Tim Maze, a founding member of Canaan`s Crossing, has been in Gospel Music since his pre-teen years. Tim learned to sing sitting on a piano seat while is Mother played for him at their local church. He began performing with regional groups at age 11. Tim sings lead and harmony vocals and occasionally the Upright Bass and resides in Arab, AL with his wife Sharon. They are active members at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church as well as in their community. Tim is a two time Diamond Award winner of the coveted Bluegrass Gospel Male Vocalist of the Year.
Andy Wilks, plays the Upright Bass, guitar and learned to sing at the young age of 4 with his sisters where he learned to sing harmony. He continued performing through high school and college with involvement in two state champion FFA Quartets as wells as other regional groups. Andy resides in Arab, Alabama with his wife Wendy and son Tre. Andy is active at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church where serves as Song Leader.
Joshua Black, plays a hard driving rhythm plus tasteful leads and fill-ins that compliments Canaan`s Crossing`s diversified style of Bluegrass Gospel. Joshua`s warm personality is winning friends everywhere we play. Joshua is in college pursuing a degree in Secondary Education. Joshua comes from a pastor`s home and in 2017 he surrendered to the call to preach the Gospel! Joshua`s sister Hannah joined the band in 2018 and they are having a blast traveling together.
Drew Long, plays an outstanding and rock solid banjo, and equally skilled guitar and Mandolin plus his distinct voice is easily recognizable. Drew also is a talented songwriter. His song “His Unchanging Hand” can be heard on our our “Word`s” CD. Drew and his wife Kristen live in Hartselle, AL with their children Sawyer and Harper Joy.
Hannah Black, began her tenure with Canaan`s Crossing in 2018. Hannah plays fiddle and is a wonderful vocalist. Her humble warm personality is drawing people closer to her every night we play. Hannah is age 19 and attends college. While in high school, she was a member of the Arab High School FFA string band which won a state championship. Also, as part of the FFA, she was an officer for all four years of high school and an Alabama state officer during her senior year. Hannah shared this on her Facebook page shortly after joining the band, “I am so excited and very thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this group. I pray that the Lord uses this for His glory and His glory alone. Excited to begin this journey! Hannah`s brother is Joshua Black our guitarist.
